Which Is better, wood or aluminum silk screens?

Over many years now I have heard people discuss the merits of wood and aluminum frames.  Of course aluminum frames can get much higher tension but that's not always needed depending on the job.  Wooden screens when properly made can provide lasting service at a greatly reduced cost.  Our customers can use the screen and either have us re-mesh it or simply toss it.  Sometimes it is not cost effective to ship a screen back for re-meshing.  An aluminum screen should be bought with the intention of re-meshing.  If you have a large operation with many screens it then becomes cost effective to ship a pallet back for re-meshing.  In smaller operations it is better to expense out the cost of the screen unless you are close enough to a company that you can drop off a few screens for re-meshing.  We can re-mesh an aluminum or wooden 20x24-110 mesh for $8.58.  A new 20x24-110 mesh wooden screen sells for $12.49.  At that price you can make money and that's what we are all trying to do.  As always Sunbelt Mfg. Co. stands behind our screens 100%.  Until next time Happy Printing!!
